Dino discovery
Horn of Eotriceratops
A horned dinosaur much older than its closest relatives has recently been discovered in Alberta, and the discovery is published in the Canadian Journal of Earth Sciences. Eotriceratops xerinsularis is related to, and may be an ancestor of, triceratops. It was found in a formation (Horseshoe Canyon) where no other dinosaurs like it have ever been discovered. It is about 68 million years old, much older than other horned dinosaurs in the family.
